Stretch films are used for packing shipments, for FIXING GOODS ON PALLETS or as protection against negative external influences (moisture, dust, etc.). They are made of polyethylene (LDPE).

The most important parameters of stretch film are its THICKNESS and ability to STRETCH. The properties of the stretch film (anticorrosion, antistatic, discolouration) can also be modified with additives.

Stretch films feature partial shape recovery, i.e. they tend to shrink to their original length after stretching. Thanks to this and their great adhesion, properly applied STRETCH FILM PERFECTLY ADHERES TO PACKAGED PRODUCTS.

FILM STRETCHABILITY IS KEY

The common denominator of all stretch films is their stretchability. It is stated as a percentage and INDICATES THE MAXIMUM INCREASE IN THE FILM LENGTH WHEN STRETCHED. For example, 150 % stretchability means that 1 metre of film will stretch to 2.5 metres. The greater the stretchability, the greater the film's quality.

WHAT FILM THICKNESS TO SELECT?

THIN STRETCH FILMS (5–25 µm) are used for packaging lightweight, regular goods. THICKER FILMS (25–35 µm) are suitable for packaging heavier products or products with irregular and sharp edges and corners.

HAND OR MACHINE STRETCH?

HAND STRETCH FILMS are suitable for fixing pallets of goods at low packaging volumes, or for protecting goods with atypical shapes or large dimensions. Manual handling is adapted to the weight of the coils, the mechanical properties, and the film dimensions. We supply different types of manual unwinders for manual fixation film application.

MACHINE PACKAGING in stretch film is quicker, of greater quality, and requires less packaging material. Machine stretch films feature significantly greater roll lengths and stretchability. Investment in a wrapping machine pays off when wrapping 10 or more pallets per day.

T-FLEXI hand stretch film

The film's mechanical properties, weight, and dimensions are adapted to manual packaging and handling. The roll width is most often 100 or 500 mm. The thicknesses range is 6–35 µm. The manual stretch films feature limited stretchability of 50–100 %, as greater stretchability cannot be used during manual packaging.

Holders for hand stretch film

We offer holders/unwinders for hand stretch films. Using a holder makes wrapping much easier and more effective. The stretch film is also more protected against damage during handling.

MACHINE T-FLEXI STRETCH FILMS

Machine stretch films are used in operations with greater packaging volumes using special wrapping machines. Machine stretch films feature large packages (more than 10 kg) and high stretchability (150–300 %), which the wrapping machines can use optimally. Machine stretch films feature a wider thickness range (9–35 μm) as well.

The most common roll width is 500 mm, but we can offer other sizes (250–1,000 mm) as well..

WATCH YOUR STRETCH FILM CONSUMPTION AND YOUR COSTS

You may only find out the real consumption by weighing the stretch film you use. Multiply the weight of the film used by its price per kilogram and you get your resulting consumption. In this way, you can optimise your packaging and determine the best film.
