Not all paper is the same

The input material for the production of cardboard is corrugated cardboard. Corrugated cardboard is produced by gluing several layers of paper together, almost always alternating between flat lining paper and corrugated paper (the wave).

Corrugated cardboard is distinguished by:

- the materials used in its production

- the size of the corrugated layer

- the number of individual layers

These three aspects in particular influence the parameters of the corrugated cardboard and thus the entire resulting packaging. That's why we pay great attention to the selection of specific corrugated cardboard.

Slotted boxes

Slotted boxes are undoubtedly the MOST COMMONLY USED PAPER BOX. They are listed as 02XX in the FEFCO catalogue. They usually consist of a single piece, and their edges are glued, stitched, or taped. 

The bottom and lid are made of flaps that need to be fixed together when assembling and filling. We deliver slotted boxes that are FOLDED FLAT and ready to use right away. 

There are MANY TYPES of slotted boxes. The simpler ones can be assembled on automatic packaging lines, while the more complex ones must be assembled manually. From small boxes to bigger pallet boxes.s

Telescopic boxes

These boxes consist of two or more separate parts. They are listed as 03XX in the FEFCO catalogue. When assembling and filling, either the lid slides over the bottom or both parts (lid and bottom) slide onto the middle part (shell) of the box.

We are also able to produce LARGE BOXES (full pallet boxes or octabins).

Shaped cut-outs

Shaped cut-outs (folded boxes or small pallets) are usually one piece. These cardboard boxes are usually ASSEMBLED WITHOUT STITCHING OR GLUING. They can be fitted with various locks, handles, cut-outs, interior fitments (grid), etc. They are listed in the FEFCO catalogue under number 04XX.

Slide packaging

Slide packaging is listed in the FEFCO catalogue under number 05XX. They consist of several liners and sleeves that slide into each other in different directions to form the final packaging, most often a box.

Rigid boxes

Rigid boxes can be found in the FEFCO catalogue under 06XX. These boxes have several parts – usually three. They usually consist of two side parts, which form the bottom and lid, and one middle part. The parts of these packages are supplied separately and are usually CONNECTED BY WIRE or glued by the consumer.

Glued boxes and small pallets

These packages are listed in the FEFCO catalogue under 07XX. They are usually single-piece collapsible packaging that is delivered flat. Assembling these boxes is VERY EASY because they are equipped with an ENVELOPE OR SLIDING BOTTOM.

Interior fitments

Interior packaging fitments made of corrugated cardboard include INSERTS, SPACERS, HANDLES, GRIDS, DIVIDERS, PARTITIONS, PADDING, etc. They can be permanently attached to the box or function as separate packaging elements. Their number in the packaging is arbitrary and depends on the purpose of use. They are listed as 09XX in the FEFCO catalogue.

Sheets

Corrugated cardboard sheets are probably the simplest paper packaging. This group includes double-layer CORRUGATED CARDBOARD SUPPLIED IN ROLLS. It also includes sheets of multi-layer corrugated cardboard cut to specific dimensions. These are most often used as spacers. In the FEFCO catalogue, they can be found under numbers 0100 and 0110.

Custom paper packaging

Very often, customers need packaging that requires a solution outside the FEFCO catalogue. In such cases, we create CUSTOM PACKAGING tailored to the specific product. This begins with a DETAILED ANALYSIS, not only of the product itself (its dimensions, weight, protection requirements, etc.), but also its handling, storage, legislative requirements, the requirements of entities within the logistics and commercial chain (up to end users), etc.

TART has an IN-HOUSE DESIGN CENTRE and a team of packaging experts, who identify all the necessary requirements and incorporate them into the final packaging solution. Based on the analysis, the packaging is designed and a prototype is produced, which is tested under real conditions and, after approval by the customer, goes into mass production.
